It is said that the soul is different from a body. While body is mortal, the soul is immortal and nothing can touch it physically. The body can get addicted to various material comforts and luxuries and can be lured by these things. The soul doesn’t give in to the temptations. While the soul is untouched by the elements, the same is not true for the body. While the body is impure, the soul is pure.
